Amazing 300 Backpack Give Away from our friends at MTO School for #NationalLovePeopleDay!

The CLF was truly and absolutely overwhelmed by the great generosity and kindness of the amazing volunteers at MTO School, who donated 300 BACKPACKS TO THE CLF’s FALL BACKPACK DRIVE! Odet, Behrooz and their tireless crew of over 100 volunteers has been working hard for months to procure these backpacks, along with 20,000 beautifully put together toiletries and hygiene packs for Salvation Army Santa Monica and the People Concern , and backpacks and school supplies for local Santa Monica elementary schools (in addition to the 300 backpacks they gave us today!) The Police Athletics League (PAL) will be personally dropping off and distributing the backpacks to the Santa Monica schools, in an awesome 1964 classic Plymouth police car! It was a beautiful morning of true, community service. We cannot express to you how moved we were, not to mention that it’s National Love People Day! ❤️There were also many awesome volunteers from the Santa Monica Police Department there, and it was a pleasure to meet Lt. Rudy Flores of The SM Police Officers Association, and Darrick Jacob-Deputy Chief of Police of the Santa Monica PD. Here’s more info on this wonderful school, and the event they hosted today: Maktab Tarighat Oveyssi (MTO) ShahmaghsoudiⓇ School in Los Angeles celebrates the National Love People Day on Thursday, September 30, also the birthday of the current Sufi Teacher, Professor Nader Angha, by making donations to several non-profit organizations in association with various Santa Monica Police Department’s specialized units. More than 20,000 donated Items of COVID-19 PPEs, backpacks, school supplies & care packages will be distributed to COVID Frontline Heroes, children & the homeless. The PPE and care packages represent the global efforts of MTO branches across dozens of cities. MTO centers worldwide have made and delivered well over 100,000 food packages, school supplies, facemasks, face-shields, and medical gowns during the pandemic.

THANK YOU, MTO! xo
