A Letter from Maria D'Angelo, CLF Founder: Summer Camp Update
Dear Friends:
I hope this letter finds you all well, healthy and safe.
Sadly, dear friends we have had to postpone all of Camp for All camps-both our Wilderness Day Camps at King Gillette Ranch & our Surf Camps at Zuma Beach in Malibu- due to the Covid-19 crisis, until and as soon as we are able to do so…We are also working with our friends at our LAUSD- affilited programs, to possibly and hopefully host camps in the Fall…
Our Swell Squad group of amazing, volunteer professionals is also working on some upcoming, VERY interesting volunteer opportunities for you! We will keep you posted, and hopefully, BUSY in your spare time, with some meaningful opportunities to help low-income LAUSD students with the strains of the coming online, academic semester…
Our main focus throughout the Pandemic has been and is presently to continue to assist the very at-risk families in our Vita Network. We have been distributing the incredible $25,000 matching grant from the Open Hearts Foundation, as well as generous grants from Capital One & the Santa Monica Rotary Club, and would love to continue the rest of the summer with a third round of funding for the families in our Vita Network …
They are all still experiencing serious setbacks since being unable to work, and ours has been the only financial assistance each family has received. Our focus presently, as we said, is to be able to continue to send each family $1,000 in the coming weeks.
Any donation you make towards helping us achieve this goal will be a true Blessing to them…We thank you so much, from the very bottom of hearts, and thank you to everyone who has already donated. You are all wonderful! We miss you, and hope to see many of you soon, hopefully at camp this Fall…
My sincerest gratitude, thanks and love,
Maria D’Angelo
