WHAT A YEAR!

     Happy New Year !

    2009 was fantastic due to

     incredible friends like yourselves!

   Look at what we achieved TOGETHER:

THIS ACADEMIC YEAR: 25 youth per week

achieved their homework requirements & academic goals

throughout the year through our care through College Program-with the help of our brilliant volunteer tutors! Thanks so much again to the Boys & Girls Club of Venice for providing us with a great home for this program!

THIS SUMMER: Camp4All spent a

great season in Malibu at Zuma Beach!

The CLF held Surf Camps for over 500 at-risk,

homeless and runaway youth this past July & August

where with the help of Malibu Makos

15 Surf Camps were held!

Even in this economy, the CLF was able to

collaborate with amazingly generous partners such

as FOX Gives! and the Getty Museum to provide FREE Field Trips for our youth!

THIS HOLIDAY SEASON:

It started off with a blast at the House of Blues on Thanksgiving Day, where 950 meals were served to homeless friends, completely sponsored by the incredible House of Blues and the cooking staff there! The CLF organized the bringing of well over 900 homeless friends & families from over fifteen shelters and agencies serving the homeless in LA County!

In December, over 500 at-risk and homeless youth were provided with amazing gifts, toys donated through JAKK's PACIFIC, Action-Agape, families from Webster, Juan Cabrillo and Pt. Dume Marine Science Elementary Schools, Anthropolgie on 3rd Street Promenade, James Beach Restaurant, Mark Kramer, OSEA Skincare, and XCVI Clothing, and 250 at-risk and very low-income youth attended two great Holiday Events- generously sponsored by California Supply, Topson-Downs of California, KAYO and Disney and Disney EARS volunteers! Remaining toys were dropped off at Midnight Mission- where the wonderful Dick Van Dyke helped hand out gifts to the homeless children residing at the Mission on Skid Row.

EVENTS & FUNDRAISERS:

February: Style for Smiles held an INCREDIBLE Fundraiser at the Regency Club in Westwood, where they generously raised funds for the CLF, MADISON'S Foundation, CHIME School, and Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center!

March: Pepperdine's C4C Club held an amazing

"Running the Waves" Marathon in Malibu at Zuma Beach in March for CLF & Special Olympics!

September: The amazing folks at the Nautica Malibu Triathlon (Thank you, Michael Epstein & MESP!) allowed for CLF to have its teams racing to raise funds for our programs, raising $49,000! Thank you to our amazing teams and their friends who donated!

December: On December 5th, the CLF held its first Annual "Angels for Change" Benefit Concert in Malibu, starring Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo,

Dick Van Dyke, Brad Garrett,& Michael Chiklis- and raised $51,000 with

your generous help!

Great guitarist Neil Giraldo, the lovely Pat Benatar,

singer Brent Moon,

the legendary Dick Van Dyke, and the wonderful Michael Chiklis!
